NEET 2025 Physics Paper pattern: Marking Scheme & Question Types
In this blog, let’s discuss the crucial strategy to help you master NEET UG 2025 Physics Paper Pattern. The type of the paper pattern, specially the change in the paper pattern, the reduction of time from 3 hours 20 minutes to 3 hours will be discussed. Based on these, some extra plans can be strategized.
We can predict the type of questions based on the trends of the previous year question papers. If we analyze the NEET 2025 Physics paper pattern of the previous year, we have seen that there were more statement-based questions, match the column type of questions. If not exact, we can still assume that the NEET 2025 Physics Paper Pattern will be more or less the same as the NEET 2024.
NEET 2025 Physics Paper Pattern: Different types of questions
Based on the last year pattern, you can expect the following number of questions of each of these types.

Take special care to solve more questions of these types as the majority of the question paper in Physics in NEET 2024 consisted of these questions.
NEET 2025 Physics Paper Pattern: Level of difficult expected
In last year's paper, if we take a look at the paper distribution, 40% of the questions came from the class 11th syllabus and 60% consisted of the class 12th syllabus. Generally more questions are given from class 12th chapters. Put more focus on the high-weightage chapters of class 12. If we consider the unit of modern physics, small effort can bring you more marks. Let’s analyze the NEET 2025 Physics Pattern of last year:

Those who score more marks and achieve a good rank, they follow a strategy of skipping some number of questions which will take more than a minute to solve. Insead, they start with solving the easiest ones before to save more time later. To be able to follow this strategy, it's very important to analyze the paper and figure out the easy, medium and the difficult ones. Use some symbols to mark the 18-20 medium and 5-6 difficult questions to be solved later after completing the easier ones.
Among the 45 questions, ensure that you solve the 28-30 easy questions in 30-40 minutes and solve the remaining questions in 25-30 minutes.
Out of syllabus topics: Is it necessary to study them for NEET 2025 Physics?
If we see, in NEET 2024, two questions were asked from rolling motion and one question from radioactivity. So if you want to set a strategy on what you should do then, it is recommended to study some of the out of syllabus topics so that you don’t miss out on your valuable marks. If you see the JEE 2025 pattern, whose syllabus is almost the same as the NEET exam, questions were surprisingly asked from Potentiometer. It is predicted that colour coding of resistors is one of the most important topics besides carnot engine. So, if your preparation level is good and you think you have time to practice more, cover the topics like
- Carnot engine: heat engine/refrigerator
- Potentiometer and color coding of resistors
- Decay law and radioactivity.
Questions were asked from half life, mean life and decay constant. So, according to the recent trend and analysis as per the previous years, it is suggested to cover these topics if you have time. Plan and revise accordingly and keep giving your mock tests and analyze your overall progress.
