IISER Admission Form 2025: Everything You Need to Know
The most common question that arises among students while preparing for NEET is, what other exams can the aspirants take during their current academic year? There are several competitive exams that are being held in India that you are not aware of or you don’t have much information about because you are mainly focusing on the NEET 2025 preparation. This is to let you know that the syllabus which you are following for NEET is the same one that is followed in the other competitive exams like IISER Aptitude Test (IAT). Starting from IISER Bhopal and IISER Kolkata, there are several others like IISER Pune, IISER Trivandrum, IISER Mohali, and IISER Tirupati. If we look at the past 10 years growth index, IISER has shown tremendous growth in the educational domain. The IISER Aptitude test (IAT) will be held on 25th May 2025 at 9:00 A.M. in the morning.
Advantages of the students if they get admission at the IISER:
- 5-year BS-MS at all IISERs.
- 4-year BS in Economic Sciences at IISER Bhopal
- 4-year BS in Economic and Statistical Sciences at IISER Tirupati
- 4-year BTech (in Chemical Engineering, Data Science and Engineering, and Electrical Engineering and Computer Science) at IISER Bhopal
Eligibility Criteria
- Indian citizens along with OCI/PIO/Foreign Nationals can apply for IAT 2025.
- A successful applicant must finish their Class XII (or equivalent) examination with science stream under any education board accepted by the Council of Boards of School Education (COBSE). Foreign Nationals applying for IAT 2025 must submit an equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian Universities unless they complete their education from any board recognized by Council of Boards of School Education (COBSE) in India. The applicant needs to submit their equivalence certificate through the IAT 2025 Application Form under the option "Please upload a copy of the document supporting your claim of Foreign National (You'll need to produce original when necessary)".
- All candidates must have been born on or after October 01, 2000. SC, ST, and PwD candidates receive a five-year age relaxation which means they should have been born on or after October 01, 1995. Students do not need to meet any class XII completion year requirements.
- Candidates need to show proof of taking at least three subjects among Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics in their Class XII (or equivalent) exam.
- Students in the SC/ST/PwD categories must achieve a minimum score of 55% in their Class XII (or equivalent examination) to seek admission. Candidates other than those from reserved categories must achieve at least 60% aggregate marks or equivalent grade in their Class XII (or equivalent) examination.
NOTE:
Candidates from Kashmiri Pandit/Kashmiri Hindu Families (Non-Migrants) who meet all other eligibility requirements may apply for the IAT 2025 using the Kashmiri Migrant category. Candidates who want to apply as Kashmiri Migrants need to upload their valid domicile certificate under the "Kashmiri Migrant Certificate" section when they submit their applications.
IISER Aptitude Test (IAT)
- The IISER Aptitude Test will be held on May 25th, 2025, Sunday at 9:00 A.M.
- The IAT will be conducted in Computer Based Mode in various centres across India.
- The total number of questions will be 60, 15 from Physics, 15 from Chemistry, 15 from Biology and 15 from Mathematics.
- The total duration of the exam is 3 hours, i.e., 180 minutes.
- The type of questions will be multiple choice type questions and each question will have one correct answer.
- Each correct answer will award you +4 marks.
- Each incorrect answer will give you -1 mark.
- Unanswered questions will be awarded 0 marks.
- The total marks for the IAT is 240.
- The syllabus of IAT 2025 is similar to the NEET 2025.
NOTE: Not every candidate will be awarded a rank. The rank cut-off will be notified later. However, getting a rank does not guarantee admission to an IISER.
Application Fee for IAT:
Applicants must pay their application fee at the time they submit their application form. Application submission through the portal begins on March 05, 2025.
- Candidates in General EWS OBC and OBC-NCL categories need to submit Rs. 2,000/- along with a transaction fee during application.
- Candidates applying under persons with disabilities (PwD), persons registered as Kashmiri Migrants/Kashmiri Pandits/Kashmiri Hindu Families (Non-Migrant), and SC/ST category must pay Rs. 1,000/- + transaction fee.
- Foreign National category applicants must pay Rs. 12,000/- along with transaction fee.
